After a hiatus-so-young absence, the ARRC, Asia's highest motorcycle championship, returns to China at the Zhuhai International Circuit on November 4-5, 2023, with more than 80 professional riders from China, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Yemen and other countries participating.

Among them, 8 racers representing China have signed up for the competition, and Gao Ziang, the No. 73 driver of Xi'an Clover Club, sponsored by Helios Tire, which is a popular driver in China, will participate in the Asian production class 250cc as a representative driver in the Asian production group.

After two days of fierce grappling, Gao Ziang finally ran his fastest lap of 01:54.837 in this field and successfully completed the race. As one of the Chinese players participating in the event for the first time, the editor found Gao Ziang and explored his feelings after the competition.

Gao Ziang, graduated from the School of Automotive Engineering of Xi'an Automobile Vocational University, Gao Ziang, who loves racing, after joining the Xi'an Clover Racing Club, combined with his own efforts, has also performed well in various motorcycle events in recent years, won the 38th "Kubuqi Wine Cup" Genghis Khan Grand Prix 400CC Open Group Championship in 2022, and won the 2023 Xiamen Hongshan Car King 400CC Open Group Championship this year. As a Chinese driver participating in the ARRC for the first time, how do you evaluate your performance and results, as well as the coordination between the team and the mechanics?

Gao Ziang: First of all, I would like to thank the brand owner of HELIOS for their strong support to me and give me the opportunity to participate in this ARRC. As a first-time driver, the post-race results are within my budget, and there is still a gap between my own competitive level and confrontation experience compared with other foreign professional drivers, and the team's pre-race preparation is also one of the things we need to strengthen.

After this competition, what do you think needs to be improved to enhance your competitiveness?

Gao Ziang: There are two aspects to enhance competitiveness, personally, whether it is racing technology or psychological quality, we must strengthen effective training and break through their own inherent bottlenecks; The other is the mechanic's communication, which is also important to have accurate and efficient vehicle tuning settings and accumulate experience.

What was your biggest takeaway from participating in ARRC?

Gao Ziang: The biggest takeaway for me on the field is that it is not so easy to complete a fierce event, whether the drivers can give full play to the performance of the car on the field to achieve excellent results, it is inseparable from the persistence of the drivers step by step, and the cooperation of the professional teams and mechanics behind them. I hope that in the future, there will be more excellent companies like HELOS in China to sponsor Chinese riders and promote the development of domestic motorcycling, so that riders representing China can have the opportunity to go to a bigger stage and cheer for China.
